About Me

My photo
JR
My father was the family shutterbug. Over the years he progressed from flashbulbs, to Kodachrome 64, to a clunky EOS that he used well into his 90's. Fortunately, he always got his exposures correct no matter what kind of outdated camera he was using. The results were dozens of 3x3 snapshots taken of me during my first two years living on the planet: images made by the sunlight that shone, for instance, on my first day playing in the snow. When the prints came back from the drugstore my mother colorized them with her black fountain pen: "blue snowsuit, red boots, cute !" Who would have thought that these 70 year old pieces of curled paper would have survived to allow me the chance to scrutinize my early life with a magnifying glass? Such is my fondness for photography.
